Part of speech
1.คำนาม (Noun) คือ คำที่ใช้เรียกแทนชื่อคน (Person),
สัตว์ (Animal), สิ่งของ (Thing),
สถานที่ (Place), ความคิด (Idea)
2.คำสรรพนาม (Pronoun)
คือ คำที่ใช้แทนคำนาม เพื่อไม่ต้องพูดนามนั้นซ้ำ
ทำหน้าที่เป็นได้ทั้งประธานและกรรม
3.คำคุณศัพท์ (Adjective)
คือ คำที่ทำหน้าที่ขยายคำนาม โดยตำแหน่งจะอยู่หน้านามเสมอ
หรือตามหลัง Verb to be และ Linking Verb
4.คำกริยา (Verb) คือ คำที่แสดงอาการหรือการกระทำในประโยค
5.คำกริยาวิเศษณ์ (Adverb) คือ
คำที่มีหน้าที่ขยายกริยา ขยายคุณศัพท์ และขยายกริยาวิเศษณ์ด้วยกันเอง
6.คำบุพบท (Preposition) คือ คำที่ใช้บอกตำแหน่ง
วันเวลา ทิศทาง สถานที่ หรือบอกความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างนามหรือสรรพนามกับคำอื่น ๆ
7.คำเชื่อม (Conjunction)
คือ คำที่ใช้เชื่อมคำกับคำ กลุ่มคำกับกลุ่มคำ หรือประโยคกับประโยค
8.คำอุทาน (Interjection) คือ คำที่ใช้บ่งบอกอารมณ์
ความรู้สึกที่เกิดขึ้นในตอนนั้นโดยมักจะเป็นภาษาพูด
